Promoting the rights of people with disability, who require a companion, to fair ticketing at events and venues

What do Cardholders think about the Companion Card?

A recent Customer Satisfaction Survey of people who have been cardholders for 5 years told us about their card usage. They mostly used their card at arts and entertainment events, closely followed by leisure, and finally sporting, many attending all three.

‘the card has given me the opportunity to partake of activities without the card I wouldn't be able to experience’

Respondents found the card very useful in helping with costs of attending events, being able to attend many more activities and thus enriching their lives.

‘experience activities I wouldn't be able to because of the cost’

‘ I can go out more as I don't need to pay the admission prices for staff’

‘very affordable to take K...., out on outings which let us go out as a family more often as it's affordable. We are very grateful’

‘now able to have a more socially active life without having to pay for a companion. Once I would have stayed at home, but now that I don't have the cost of two people I can enjoy and be involved in a much more mainstream lifestyle. That's what social inclusion is all about’

‘thank you so much for the Companion Card which my sister was able to use in her former supported accommodation. Since her transfer to an Aged Care Nursing home, the family are just getting used to the Card again. It is a wonderful service to a South Australian with a disability. Thankyou’.
