Jamestown Railway Station Museum

Built in 1885 the Museum collection reflects the way of life of farming and town families.

The museum is housed in the Jamestown Railway Station built in 1885 which replaced the original timber-framed weatherboard building that burnt down in 1884. It was opened as a museum during the 1971 District Centenary Celebrations.

The collection reflects the bygone way of life in this farming community, highlighting the history of the Bundaleer Forest and the beginnings of businesses such as Southern Farmers and MS McLeod Ltd. personal items and biographical information of Sir John Cockburn, former mayor, prominent politician and SA Premier 1889-90 and information about other well known South Australians such as Reginald M Williams, are in the feature display.
